Propofol: Jacko's Milk or Death Potion?

The demise of the legendary pop icon Michael Jackson made me stiff for minutes. He was loved by many. Matter of fact, he was a personal favorite. He was unique. He was very talented. He was full of surprises. He was an eccentric artist who values his privacy. He has contributed much to the entertainment industry but he still has surprises to make. The industry must've been so sad to lose someone like him.

I learned from the news that his death might be caused by the powerful anesthetic called propofol. He was addicted to it that he called it his 'milk'. He might not have the slightest idea that his 'milk' would someday become his 'death potion'. Doctors say propofol is certainly dangerous enough to cause death if improperly used.

The one who administered the sedative was his doctor - Conrad Murray. A case was earlier filed against him. If it is shown by evidence that Murray is guilty, justice should be served. Physicians' malpractice and negligence are highly reprehensible. One who is entrusted with life is expected to exercise the highest degree of care.
