Unrealized Christianity

"I like Christ but I hate Christians who are not Christ-like" - Mahatma Gandhi

In one of his sermons, I heard a priest say: Gandhi once said "Christians claim their lives have been saved by Christ but their lives won't show it."

Yes it's true. Christians (myself included) say that they believe and love Christ. But their actions show the contrary.

Christianity we know today took centuries to congeal and be codified into regulated practice. For a long time, there were a variety of groups, calling themselves Christians, who believed a number of different things about Christ. We might never have known the full extent of this variety were it not for the discovery of some ancient texts.

"Seeing is believing." But God calls us to a life of faith that says, "believing is seeing."

Because of our non-biblical worldview, we are ignorant of the spiritual realm. If you look around you will see blind obedience amongst Christians. Believing is understanding. But can we say we believe when we don't understand ecclesiastical concepts? Much fear usually comes from ignorance. If we don't know how very BIG our God is and just how tiny our enemy is, then we can never really understand. Satan intimidates us a little and many back off or retreat. What do we do now?

All we have to etch in our mind is how to live the four spiritual laws:

1. God loves us and offers a wonderful plan for our life.

2. Man is sinful and separated from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God's love and plan for his life.

3. Christ is God's only provision for man's sin. Through Him you can know and experience God's love and plan for your life.

4. We must individually receive Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.

Faith no less than works must characterize the perfect Christian. Faith can move mountains. But without action, it is nothing.
